Foyer Renovation

The original foyer was spatially too open and lacking in architectural detail for this otherwise traditionally conceived Swampscott home reminiscent of Boston's Beacon Hill district.

A new balcony was added, adjacent to the existing stair and above the front entrance, as a device to help modulate the foyer spatially.  Throughout the foyer and stairway, custom panelled wainscot crowned with walnut handrails, were installed.  Custom designed coffered ceiling moldings were added under the balcony and foyer ceiling above to help complete this stylistic impression.
