Frangos Architecture & Design

Lake Cottage

This lake cottage, located in Alton Bay NH, is a retreat on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.  Its architecture recalls the Craftsman and Adirondack style.

Hampton Addition

The owner's expansive property, nestled in the woods of Hampton NH, was recently encroached upon by a residential development in view from thier existing back deck.  This inspired a solution of creating an architectual ensemble of interior and exterior rooms that would provide privacy.

Addition & Renovation

This residential addition and renovation involved removing an existing two-car garage and small family room to allow for a new great room with a masonry fireplace and three-car garage with a master bedroom suite above.

Middleton Addition

This new addition in Middleton MA contains a ground floor billard table with a bar and social gathering area.   A loft space, accessed by a custom spiral stair, provides mutimedia entertainment and relaxation.

Foyer Renovation

The original foyer was spatially too open and lacking in architectural detail for this otherwise traditionally conceived Swampscott home reminiscent of Boston's Beacon Hill district.

Lynn Residence

This private residence is sited on a hill overlooking a pond, with views of the Lynn Woods Reservation and Boston skyline beyond.  From the cupola, there are panoramic views of the surrounding area and the Atlantic Ocean.

Belmont Kitchen Renovation

This new kitchen renovation included custom designed maple cabinetry by the architect, a new bay window with window seat for the dinette area, and a new powder room.

Lynnfield In-law Addition

This home faces a cul-de-sac.   Its side property line is of an acute angle.  These conditions inspired the in-law addition's gabled facade to be angled in relation to the existing house, defining the circular frontage, while its side elevation is parallel to the property line.

Swampscott House

This home gathers modern and traditional architectural cues from New England's vernacular and beyond.  Conceptually organized about an interior courtyard and illuminated by natural light, this space serves as the hub of the client's home life.
